Of course the first choice is from your BMW dealer. Since you get an approved battery with 2 year warranty and a free checkup of your car's charging system(including a parasitic draw test after installation of the new battery). But some people do not want to pay the extra money that goes with it.
So you could try some reputable battery outlets like Sears, etc. Just make sure that the battery they install fits in properly and is clamped securely.
