BMW Repair: Another E30 86 318i starting problems, vacuum gauge, warm weather

Question
Hello
I brought this car really cheap it worked fine for a week.  When i brought it i was told to start it when the fuel/vacuum gauge hit 3.5l/s it started first time everytime but as the warm weather kicked came in it wont start on a hot day.   I found the starter motor and tapped it, it worked for the first time but now it will only start on a cold day.  When it fails to start i can hear the fuel pump? clicking and then when i turn the key it is silence. I would have been led to believe that it is the starter motor that needs replacing but then i wondered why it will still start on a cold day.  Any help will be appreicated
Jason.

Answer
Jason,
this will be one that you will have to figure out on your own.  I've heard of cars being hard to start during warm weather, but it's not really because of the starter.

Maybe you should just replace the starter and be done with it?

 Good luck,
 Josh
