BMW Repair: coil wire for 1989 525i, coil wire, bmw dealer

Do you know if there is a company that I can purchase just a coil wire for my 1989 525i? I broke the ceramic connector when I was plugging it into the coil. I paid about $125 for the new plug set that included the coil wire and I don't want to have to buy an entire new set of wires to replace just the coil wire.

Hello John,
The last time I replaced a coil set like yours was 3 years ago. But I know that BMW sells the coil wire separately as P/N 12121726038. If they still sell it separately is another matter.
Try looking for it from your nearest BMW dealer. Ask them to order it for you. Or go to an Autozone or Kragen store and look for a suitable aftermarket replacement.
I agree with you that buying a whole set just to get one piece of it does not make sense.
Have you ever gone to a surplus parts/junkyard ? Sometimes
this works for a lot less money.
