BMW Repair: bmw 323, wheel bearing noise, wheel bearings

hi i have a e46 t registerd bmw i have only just brought the car and when driving there is like a wheel bearing noise with a grinding sounding even worse when slowing down i have checked all the wheel bearings and drive shafts and all the brakes seem ok eveythingelse works fine ive even jacked the back end up run the car in gear still with no look in pin pointing the problem so i checked the ujs on the prop there ok also please help i dont want the wife and kids to drive it why its got this noise please email me direct if you can thanx

Ron, what is an E46 t? Where does this noise originate (front end, rear end, left side, right side?) What are the brake specs? (pads in millimeters, Rotor thickness in millimeters). Is is worse on left turns/right turns. If you think it is worse on braking then I would think it is either a wheel bearing or brakes. I would brake up to someone outside the vehicle an see if they can locate the sound from the front or rear of the vehicle.
