BMW Repair: radio removal, radio radios, antenna connection

Question
I bought a 1999 BMW 323i used and the radio powers up, but there's no sound coming from the speakers. I thought about just replacing the radio but I'm not sure how to get the factory radio out. I'm still not even sure if this will solve my problem.  Any information you could give me would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks, Cam

Answer
Cam, I use a nylon pry tool or something that won't scratch plastic. Pry the wood trim above the glove box off. Then the wood trim above the radio comes off next. Then you can get to the philip screws that hold the radio in. Replace any plastic clips you may brake. One bale style square connection and one antenna connection on the back of the radio. Radios aren't cheap but I bet you could find one on ebay or something of the like with all the other folks putting in aftermarket decks in there has to be some stock stuff floating around.
Please fill out a follow up survey if this helps. Thanks.
