BMW Repair: 2000 328i door panel removal, radio reception, interior window

Question
Hi, I have a 2000 328i and I am attempting to tint the windows. The door panels definitly need to be removed to do it because the seal is very tight at the bottom of the window on the inside. How do they come off, are there any screws anywhere or does it just snap off somehow or both?
Thanks, Matt

Answer
Matt, if you have a sedan five T-20 screws on the front door panel and five on the rear. Two under the wood trim, two at the bottom of the arm rest and one under the mirror switch. Then pry the door panel off from the bottom up. Remember to turn the key off when if you disconnect airbags. You won't get an airbag light unless you turn the key on with the bags disconnected. Don't tear the foam vapor barrier behind the door panel. Carefully cut the sealer with a razor. The barrier keeps water out of your interior. Window tint usually has a bit of metal in it and this will affect the radio reception if you tint the main rear window (antennas for the radio are in the glass). Good luck. Please fill out a follow up survey if this helps.
