BMW Repair: STEERING, 1990 bmw 535i, bmw 535i

HI RONALD,
i drive a 1990 bmw 535i.
few weeks ago i noticed that sometimes when i turn the steering wheel is stiff but it was doing it only at the first time i turn but after that it will be fine.
this afternoon it took both hands to turn the steering wheel and it is still this way.
i checked the power steering fluid and it is ok.
the belt on the power steering pump is in good shape.
also in very cold wheather my car will act like there is no struts or in other words when i hit a pump the car takes it very hard and bounce for like few seconds.

A stiff steering problem that is worse cold or when first started is usually the rack and pinion getting old and needing to be replaced.
The shocks are starting to bind up when cold and should be replaced.  
Time to invest in your car or find a warmer climate.
