BMW Repair: bleeding the cooling system, coolant water, plastic screw

replaced the heater core on my 750il 1989,
would like to find out how to bleed the system with doing damage to the system.

remove the cap, remove the plastic screw next to the cap. add 50/50 mix coolant/water until no bubbles come out of bleeder screw (plastic screw). reinstall bleeder screw and radiator cap. start engine and set heat to maximum. observe temperature gauge to ensure no overheat
