BMW Repair: BMW Interior Cabin Air Microfilter, interior cabin, bmw

Recently purchased new Interior Cabin Air Microfilter for my 1996 328I Convertible, and found out my owners manual doesn't have the "how to replace" bit--only statement that indicates it needs replacing about once a year or so.

I don't even know where this microfilter is located--much less how to replace it?!! Can you help me?

you need to remove the panel on the passenger side under the dash. from there you'll see a door with a knob on it behind the center of the dash. turn the knob and remove the door. remove the old filter. when you install the new filter, it can be folded somewhat into 3 equal sections. you will need to do so to get the new one in.
