BMW Repair: A/C Control Unit Replacement on 88 bmw 735i, dual climate, bmw 735i

 Is there any connection or feed back between elect. aux. fan and the a/c control unit under dash?  Aux. fan blows fuses.
 With the dual climate control we sometime get hot air blowing while on a/c.
 Under which side of the dash is the a/c control unit mounted? How do I get to it?

aux fan should have a resistor mounted on it. when the resistor goes bad, or the fan get obstructed, the fuse will blow. the intermittent hot air could be caused by the aux fan not working to remove the heat from the condensor. and the a/c control unit i am not 100% sure but i believe it is part of the heat and air control panel.
