BMW Repair: instument lights, bmw dealer, belt tensioners

I have two lights just recently popped up on my instrument panel .  The airbag light came on and stayed on 2 days now and 24 hours later the check engine light came on and remains on , are they related and is there a reset?  1997 Z3

The 2 are not related. They are 2 separate faults. The airbag light most commonly is caused by the seat belt tensioners-the part that the seat belt locks into. And the check engine light could be due to several reasons. It will be necessary to bring the car to a BMW dealer to have the faults retrieved from the control units
