GMC Repair: Power window, buick century, rainy weather

On my 2002 Buick Century the drivers front door window will go down all by itself and you can not put it back up.  Usually in rainy weather.  What could cause this problem?

I does it come up when dry by its own? Or do you have to pull it up by hand?
If comes up on it's own when dry, I would guess an electrical connector or terminals are getting wet and too much resistance is not allowing enough power to get to the lift motor.
If it can be pulled up by hand, I would guess the window lift regulator cables are broken or getting hung up, and are in need of replacement.
If in doubt, I would recommend taking it and having it properly diagnosed.
