GMC Repair: brake light/ inside lights, fuse block, blown fuse

hello Mr. Saunders, i have a 2006 cobalt lt.
  My right brake light is out, i was going to replace it but i also noticed the lights inside my car that light up the P,R,N,D letters dont light up anymore, i usually shift without looking but this had me wondering if its a blown fuse or if i actually need another bulb.the letters are the only thing inside that dont light up anymore. thanks any thought id be open to

I would look at the fuse. If it is the bulb, stranger things have happened. If you wanted to change up the colors you can do that too. Most will say that is unlikely and there is another problem. I would start from the fuse block and go from there. Most likely it will be the bulbs.
