GMC Repair: Seat Heater Specs, thermal scanner, seat heaters

Question
I have a 2003 Sierra 3500.  Since purchasing this vehicle the passenger seat heater hardly gets warm.  I have brought it back to the dealer only to have them tell me it works fine.  The driver seat heats up so well, I have to turn it down from high.  But the passenger bottom cushion barely works.  The back cushion seems to work fine, but not the bottom.  The mechanic at the dealer does not know the heating specs for these seat heaters, I had hoped you might.  I have found that other seat heaters run from 91 degrees Farenheit to 133 degrees (min to max).  The dealer used a laser thermal scanner to test the seat, but it only read a max of 75 degrees and they think that is good.  I told them that anything less than 90 degrees isn't even considered warm.  The Service Manager suggested I get a second opinion, so this is where you come in.... please help me Obi Wan.

Answer
The heated seat is definately not working correctly, it should be much warmer and it is unfortunate that he dealer you visited is not more willing to help you.  Most likely it needs a new heating element which is under the cushion.  I would try another dealer, maybe call first to see if they have a tech that specializes in that area.
