GMC Repair: 1997mc suburban k-1500 removing the gas tank, drive shaft, gas tank

Question
I was trying to remove the gas tank in order to replace fuel pump.

Answer
you may have to remove the drive shaft, and then the tank straps, being careful not to lower the tank too far until you have disconnected the electrical connections and fuel lines and evap hoses from atop the tank.  Of course this is for a side mounted tank, rear mounted would not require the removal of the drive shaft
