GMC Repair: Dashboard lights question..., backyard mechanics, dashboard lights

Question
Tim,
I've got a 2001 Buick LeSabre, and a lot of the dashboard lights are burned out.  (I've replaced the fuse, so it's not that.)  I know that just about all cars nowadays have printed circuit boards, and I wondered if I could replace the lights myself (using a soldering iron)...or if that's a bit beyond most "backyard mechanics".  (The speedometer light and gas gauge lights still work, so I guess those are the two most important.)
Just wondered if a dark dash is something I'm going to have to live with...I don't want to replace the whole circuit board.
Any info you could give me is greatly appreciated.
Warm regards,
David Gardner

Answer
if it is just the lights that come on when you turn on the headlamps, it might be possible to replace just those bulbs.  I am not 100% sure but they may be what is call twist lock bulbs, if you go to sylvania.com, and enter your vehicle info, it will give you a master list of all the bulbs in your vehicle.  You will have to R&R the instrument cluster to access the back side, to see if you can remove the burned out bulbs and replace them.
