GMC Repair: power window repair, fuse block, older cars

regulator cable frayed and window froze...replaced full power unit with new (tested prior to install). now new motor barely turns and mirror light goes on while window switch is held. seems the window switch wiring routes thru the mirror harness... other than tracing a short, is there anything else but a wire that could have been damaged by the switch being held a few seconds while the window was frozen? like fuse block, computer, etc.   I work on older cars for fun, but too much fancy on these new ones... anything obvious i'm missing?  thanks

Hate to say this but make sure it was the right regulator I have had so many instance s that the wiring was different by one wire that everything else doid not work right/ Also check wiring around the area make sure there is nothing pinched in door also check the switches in the door. Good luck Matt
