GMC Repair: 1999 Buick LeSabre LE, gm steering column, steering column repair

Question
I had my 1999 Buick LeSabre LE, 350 V6, in the shop in April,07 because it wouldn't crank.  They replaced the ignition switch and the ignition actuator (rod), this cost me around $850.00  It ran fine unitl August 20, 2007.  I put it back in the shop since I thought it was the same thing, but this time they said it wasn't under warranty since it was the ignition cylinder and ignition key, cost of $500. Guess what, won't crank again.  It stuck in ACC couldn't get it out of that position, key came out but battery is now dead.  The same shop is picking it up to fix it.  How many more ignition parts are there that they can replace?

Thanks,

Joy

Answer
Hi
It sounds to me like the switch is installed improperly OR it is mis adjusted.
The key cylinder may also be binding... .
It really sounds like you should find a better shop. The GM steering column repair is basic, easy stuff. It SHOULD not be causing so many problems, not twice.
I Hope this helps
