GMC Repair: 99 GMC Savanna Conversion Van, gmc savanna, conversion window

Question
After driving my van home last night, from a family gather, starting it
cold there was no problem. Stopped after 30 minutes of driving, it sat for
about 20 min and drove home another 30 minutes. I backed into the
garage and went to leave this morning and it will not start up. I will turn
over, but will not start.

I do not here the fuel pump buzz like it has. I also here a clicking noise
on the driver side, and just to the rear of the seat, sounding like it is
between the conversion window and the door pillar.

I have not been aware of anything going on with the fuel pump. Could it
be that it failed that fast. Or could it be the fuel filter fuse relay?

Thanks
Jeff

Answer
Hi
If you do not hear the fuel pump, I would see if the relay underhood clicks while cranking.
If so you can check power to pump....if it is getting back there, on a conversion van I would locate the ground for the fuel pump. Alot of times, the conmversion company MAY move the ground. If so it could work loose etc...
If it is clean and tight I would HIGHLY suspect the fuel pump.
Yes they do fail that quickly.
I hope this helps
Good Luck
