GMC Repair: Opel Corsa 1.4i utility- year 2000, crankshaft position sensor, crank pulley

Question
Will a faulty knock sensor located on the crank pulley cause the coil not to fire, ie no spark on plugs, engine swings but will not start.

Answer
Hi
I do not have access to GM Opel service manuals.
That being said, if it is a KNOCK SENSOR (KS), no that WILL NOT keep an engine from firing. That being said, and again not having access to manuals, Knock sensors are TYPICALLY located screwed into the block, usually in a water jacket.
If it is the CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CKP) that is typically located on the front of engine at the crank pulley area (as you describe). Now the CKP WILL create a no spark condition, as you describe.
I Hope this helps.
Good Luck
