GMC Repair: 2000 gmc jimmy no power when cold, fuel pressure gauge, coolant temp

Question
I have a vortec 4.3. when cold, car has no power for about the first 15 seconds of trying to drive. after that it runs fine. it feels like it will not take gas. I had fuel pump replaced and it is fine. any suggestions?

Answer
Hi
If it feels like it is not getting fuel, I would install a fuel pressure gauge onto the fuel system and observe the pressure.
This system should be 60-66 psi NO MORE NO LESS.
I would then look at other items that could effect cold running conditions.
The fuel QUALITY.
Proper open loop operation.
The Coolant temp sensor reading.
The Intake air sensor reading
The fuel filter
plugs, plug wires
Dist. cap, and rotor
I hope these help
Good luck
