GMC Repair: timming, intake manifold gasket, compression stroke

Question
1998 Gmc Jimmy 4.3 4x4 130,000 automatic
I just changed the intake manifold gasket now the vehicle will not run. It just turns over. I have spark. I suspect I screwed up on the distributor installation. It seemed to fall back right in place. But I have double checked wire installation. With the timing mark lined up on compression stroke the rotor button should have just passed the #1 contact on the distributor cap right? This isn't an interference motor right? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

Answer
Hi
Rotor should be lined up with the LITTLE "V" notch located on the Distributor body itself, where the cap seals.
It'll have 2 LITTLE "V" notches, one for V-8 and 1 for V-6 (if you look REALLY close you'll see them marked).
Also the Distributor , on the REAR FACING THE FIREWALL will have a SMALL yellow paint line. This line will aslo extend onto the black plastic plenum. It needs to be lined up as well (Cam/crank correlation).
No interference.
I Hope this helps.
Follw back if needed.
