GMC Repair: Braking Causes Engine Failure, ground circuits, electrical center

Question
I have a 97 (sorry is that close enough to 98) GMC Jimmy 2wd. The last 2 or 3 times I applied the brakes, the antilock brake light came on and the engine died. It was difficult to restart but I got the car home w/o applying the brakes. When I started the engine again, I put on the brakes to shift out of park, the engine died and when I tried to restart it the engine turns over but won't start . It won't shift out of park and the instrument panel lights also don't work now. I checked all the fuses and looked for inline fuses (didn't find any). Can you help?

Answer
Hi
I see one thing looks like may be common to all your complaints.
There is a ground G105, located on the Left (drivers side)
cylinder head.
It is a common ground for the ignition coil, ABS, dash, and a few other items.
If the ground is checked and it is clean and tight the individual ground circuits go through the Underhood Bussed electrical center (UBEC)(aka underhood fuse box). It MAY then be your problem.
The only other thing it COULD be is the ignition electrical switch.
I did not check all the power circuits coming out of it, but they too can cause multiple problems.
I Hope this helps.
Good Luck
