GMC Repair: wiring headlights and reverse lights, gmc vandura 2500, gmc vandura

i just bought a 93 or 94 GMC Vandura 2500. it runs fine but i need a way to hook my reverse lights and high beams to a toggle switch or something. the headlights themselves work but  the steering column is a little beat up and the switch to turn on the brights is gone. I just wanted to know if hooking these lights up to a toggle switch is possible or if there is a better alternative. The reverse lights also come on but they come on in drive due to the steering column being broken. any help would be greatly appreciated.

My honest opinion would be to do one of two things
1) Get a used steerring column from a Salvage yard and install it.
2) take it to a local shop you trust and have the wiring repaired professionally.
Just advice from experience.
