GMC Repair: NO instrument panel lights, NO power to windows, NO A/C blower, No shifting out of 1st gear, gmc safari, vacuum lines

Question
I have a 94 GMC Safari with a 4.3 engine.  We have encountered a problem when we started the car - I have no instrument panel lights, no power windows, no blower, and it won't shift out of 1st gear.  Thinking it was a fuse - I went thru each fuse just to see if any were blown.  None were.  I checked the wiring behind the battery to see if anything was loose - found a wire that was burnt by battery acid - spliced it back together and still nothing. I have a radio, have dome lights, have headlights, and even tail lights. I recently replaced plug wires, PCV valve, and some vacuum lines.  I don't feel this has anything to do with it - - but you would be the person to tell me that.  Any ideas - please?

Answer
Hi
I see nothing in common with the circuits your having trouble with EXCEPT the ignition switch.
There are some fusible links down by the starter you can check, but it really looks like it MAY be an ignition switch problem.
As far as to tell you if your previous repairs had anything to do woth current problems - from what you tell me no they USUALLY would not, however, you never know if something was like maybe almost burned thru, and you moving it or bumping it may have loosened it up ... I cannot tell you.
I Hope this helps
JUST advice from experience.
Good Luck
