What is the recommended Oil for a 1988 GMC S15 PICKUP 2.5L L4 FI engine w/ 59,000 original miles?

Alot depends on your winters cold, and your summers heat.
Also what type of driving your going to do.
Your personal preference, or the amout of money your willing to spend.
Safest bet would be a good name brand 10w30.
Most manufacturers recommend a 5w20 or 5w30 (all areas, Temps and terrains).
I would recommend a good synthetic oil (15w) and cahnge it every 5k to 7.5k MILES.
(Of course where I live, we have mild winters and very hot summers).
THIS IS JUST SUGGESTIONS.
MANY mechanics will have different opinions, ask a few in YOUR local area also. They may have different suggestions based on climate and or terrain.
