GMC Repair: 1992 chevy silverado radio, chevy silverado, radio 92

92 silverado 1500.  which has the radio, and separate tapedeck on the other side of the dash. plus the amp? by the gas pedal...................ok. the radio gets power because it shows a display of 98.1  but does nothing else. wont change stations or anything. wouldnt you at least hear static from the speakers?  tapedeck has no power. how do i go about finding the source of the problem? does it all stem from the unit by the gas pedal? i've never seen a system like that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The reciever under the dash IS the radio. The "control head" that you adjust volume on, change channels, etc, is just that, a remote control head. If there is ANY problems it is PROBABALLY more than likely the Reciever, under the dash.
