GMC Repair: serpentine belt 1988 S-15 - 2.8 liter, serpentine belt, serp belt

My serpentine belt is worn . How easy/hard is it to change one? Is there an automatic belt tensioner? I have the routing diagram on my hood.I am not a mechanic by any means.Is it a matter of just loosening the belt tensioner -taking the belt off- putting on the new one and turning the belt tensioner again which will automatically adjust> Thanks

You got it. Yes that is the way to replace the serp. belt.
Usually the Belt tensioner uses either a 3/8th square or a 1/2' square drive. You can use a ratchet or breaker bar.
