GMC Repair: 1996 Chevy Tahoe - Throttle Body Sensor, throttle position sensor, chevy tahoe

Question
Having trouble with a throttle body sensor.  Replaced throttle body sensor, still had problems.  Ran a diagnostic check, which still pointed to the same sensor.  Switched throttle body and sensor with a 1998 GMC Sierra, same engine, the GMC ran fine and but the Tahoe had the same problem even using the throttle body and sensor from the GMC.  Could this possibly be a fuel pump problem now, or what direction should I take.

Answer
Hi
I am assuming the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is what you are referring to.
Also I am assuming the original problem is the Service Engine Soon light?
If so, I would start looking at the wires for the TPS. If the sensor is switched and works on another vehicle, it very well may be the wires.
If you could look at the data on the scan tool, watch the TPS data, see if the voltage goes from 0.3-0.7v closed,  up to almost 5.0v at wide open throttle (WOT).
If not and the other sensor does, I would supect the wires. It may also be the PCM.
Again, I am saying this NOT KNOWING your original complaint.
You may follow up and I'll be glad to assist you.
JUST advise from experience.
Hope it helps
Good Luck
