GMC Repair: 1994 4.3 liter Vortac Fuel System, fuel pressure gauge, cpfi

Question
I have a 1994 s-10 Blazer with a Vortac 4.3. The suv will loose power at any giving time. I put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail, it reads 50lbs when running, but when you turn the key on to prime the system, it won't hold pressure. Is it suppose to or not?

Answer
Hi
If you have the VIN W CPFI system, the pressure should be between 55 and 61 PSI with Key On and pump running. It should hold pressure. I would suspect on this system either the "Spider" injector and/or the  2 plastic fuel lines that run inside the intake manifold that feed the injector fuel injector assy. and return fuel. If you determine the spider injector of being the problem, I would suggest replacing the 2 lines while your in there anyways, just as a precaution.
Again this is just advice. If in doubt, check with a local mechanic you trust to help with diagnosis.
Good Luck
