GMC Repair: 96 Chevy Astro starts intermitently, chevy astro, distributor caps

Question
Dear sir,
I have a 1996 Chevy Astro, 4.3L v6, and it won't start consistently. A few weeks ago the fuel pump and the fuel filter were replaced, and we drove it about 15-20 miles and parked it.
The next day it wouldn't start, even using starting fluid.
I was afraid that maybe there was a manifold leak into the cylinders, so I pulled the plugs and turned it over but no water came out, so I replaced the plugs and it started right up. The next day it wouldn't start. I tested and found that there was spark coming to the distributor but none and the plugs, so I replaced the distributor and it seemed to be fixed (started and drove fine for a couple days). But now it won't start again, and I don't know why not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Did you replace the entire distributor? I have alot of problems with the distributor caps on these vans, also it could be your coil going out.

Try and check the spark again and check your fuel pressure also, it needs to be at least 60psi, but not more than 66psi.
