GMC Repair: 99 GMC JImmy 4x4 4.3 vortec stalling intermittently, crankshaft position sensor, gmc jimmy

Question
Had a new transmission put in my 99 GMC Jimmy.  codes for misfire of 2 injectors came up right after the tranny was replaced.  Mechanic claims it was an electrical problem that is now fixed.  Now the truck just intermittently dies.  No rhyme or reason...it just happens.  Then it will start up, sometimes not, the fuel pump and sending unit were just replaced as was the fuel filter.  I've been without my car for over month with it in the shop.  Please help me cause I don't know what to do?!?!

Answer
I would bring it to your local dealer, I have found this in only a couple of trucks, however it is only the 4.3 that it happens with. It could be that your crankshaft position sensor is failing and may have been damaged by the crankshaft. The dealer may have to contact GM Technical Assistance to get the proper diagnistic information.
