Question -
i have a 1994 gmc jimmy and when it warms up its seems like one of the clyinders is missing.  i have replaced the destributor cap, the spark plugs and wires, the rotor button, the ignition coil and the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator, as well as the altenator.  however the miss is still there.  what do you think my problem could be, im running out of ideas.

Hi,James

I suspect that your CPFI unit has plugged injectors, the CPFI is Central Port Fuel Injection and is located inside the upper intake manifold,we call it a turantula because it looks like a spider,it houses the injectors or what is called poppets on this sys, they have problems with becoming plugged with carbon and causing a missfire, you can attempt to clean them but that usually does not work and is best to have it replaced,it is an expensive unit and GM has updated to a better system for replacment, now there is still hope, there is a bulliten for special policy and you may be able to have this done under GM warranty, one bulliten is for California Car/trucks,the number of the bulliten is 99034A,you will need the dealer to perform the work, just give them that bulliten number.if you need more help let me know. Thanks

Answer
Hi,James

Yes you could do it yourself if you take your time to do it right and go through the steps,i could guide you through it if you need, also see if you could locate a service manual,it'll help you along the way.
The Bulliten is a GM document, ive heard of places on the internet that has the bullitens for free to view, though i havent really looked because i am able to access all documents and bullitens including internal documents,if you forward your email address i may be able to paste and send a copy of that bulliten,or you can contact a local dealership and ask them for a copy.Let me know.
