GMC Repair: car stalling/hesitating, buick park ave, throttle position sensor

Question
My husband, who is a mechanic, & all his fellow workers, & myself are at a loss.  We have replaced MAP sensor, Mass aif flow sensor, throttle position sensor, air cleaner temp sensor, oxygen sensor, ECM,Fuel filter, oil change & filter, Tune up, fuel injector pressure regulator, cleaned the egr, the fuel pump, cat converter, & injectors are all ok.  But we still have an 89 buick park ave. that stalls, hesitates, and acts like it's going to stall but than excelerates quickly.  Also, the service engine light goes on & off and if car sits more than 3 hrs. it takes 2-3 times to start the car.  We can not think of any other possible problem.  Can you help, please?

Answer
Are you getting ANY codes when the check engine light illiminates ?.

Are you POSITIVE that the ignition coil is oputting out enough voltage to fire the plugs ?.

Are the plugs black and sooty ?.

The most likely cause is either corrosion at one of the ecm connectors which is very common and or a severe voltage drop due to a weak battery or internally corroded battery cables. Check the battery cables for a voltage drop as you try and start the engine.

When you have this failure to start will it attempt to start using a little starting fluid ?.
