GMC Repair: surging, v6 vortec, crank shaft

Question
I have a 94 Jimmy SLT w/V6 vortec. After driving at HWY speed for 1 hour in dry condition, traveled thru the residue of a rain storm. 5 minutes later, it started to surge. I assumed H20 in wiring. Several days later, in city driving, it works fine for 10 minutes, then it starts cutting out, surging, but intermentently. It seems that it happens more at a steady RPM, less during acceleration. I changed the fuel filter, hoping that it was just a coincidence that it happened after the wet driving. Suggestions? Thanks, Mark

Answer
Check the crank shaft sensor for signs of slight cracking of the sensor or any chafing of the wires or the wire connections at the sensor. If you have to use some tube silicone to coat around the electrical plug of the sensors and into each wire slot of the connector to keep out the moisture.

Look down under the vehicle for any suspicious wiring or connections that could be capable of getting wet and apply some silicone to them.
