My 1994 Buick, Regal, (3800) will not idol below 1500 RPM and after it warms up, I have to press the accelerator to the floor in order to start it. I have to press the brake with both feet when I come to a stop sign, (exaggeration). Smell of unburned fuel when I shut it off.
Answer -
Either a stuck throttle or a kinked throttle cable or possibly a vacuum leak in one of the hoses.

How do I know if it is a vacuum leak?
AnswerPurchase an aerosol can of carb cleaner and spray the vacuum hoses and if the engine speed suddenly increases or changes drastically you found your vacuum leak.
Just be CAREFUL spraying near the spark plugs.
