GMC Repair: 1988 gmc running poor, pickup coil, distributor cap

Question
I have a 88 cmc half ton.  305.
Last feb I got caught in a blizzard and my ignition got wet/truck died.  I dried it out, wiped the distributor cap and it ran better.  A month later, it started running poor.  I replaced the plugs and the distr cap/rotor as well as the fuel filter and air filter.
It runs great when it's cold but after the engine warms to operating temp, it starts to run bad.  upon acceleration it will pickup rpm, then kind of blahhhh out with not much power, then it will all of a sudden start reving again but not really opening up right.  Also at a red light it will idle for a while, then start missing, this gets worse the longer it idles.  If i give it a bit of gas it starts idling again for about 20 seconds then starts missing.
What could my prolems be?

Answer
I would suspect that you probably got the PICKUP COIL within the distributor cap wet and it has now corroded and is causing your problem.
