GMC Repair: No Spark, gmc 1500, pickup coil

Question
I have a 1989 GMC 1500 with a 5.7 V8. It occasionally would loose power but would be ok if you let up on the throttle.  It died on the way home from the store so I towed it home.  I get no spark to the spark plugs.  I have replaced the plugs, rotor, cap, and coil.  Is there a way to check that power is ariving at the coil from the iginition system.  I have checked the underdash fuse and it is good.  Is there a relay of fuze located somewhere else?

thanks

Answer
Does this ignition system ahve the coil on top of the distributor cap or is the coil seperat and mounted on the engine ?.

Check for battery voltage at the larger single wire at the cap which I believe should be RED.

Your most likely fault is the ignition module, pickup coil or crankshaft sensoe depending upon which ignition system you have.
