Questionengine stall intermittent ,and would not start next morning. replaced el fuel pump with carter brand pump,replaced f.p. relay, fuel filter .does not seem to be getting fire to pump but am getting fire to relay replaced oil pressure switch ,did not help. does it have engine reset switch? please help.
Answer1. get yourself a helper.
2. remove the gas cap.
3. listen at the gas cap.
4. have your helper turn the ignition switch to the ON
position ONLY. Do NOT try and start the engine.
5. as soon as the ignition switch is turned to the ON
position, You should hear the electric fuel pump in the
fuel tank run for TWO SECONDS and then STOP.
DOES IT ?.
I can e-mail you an electrical schematic of how the fuel pump circuit is wired and IF you know how to use a volt meter and can read the electrical schematic, You can easily diagnose and fix your problem.
