GMC Repair: 1983 gmc vandura, gmc vandura, auto repair facility


Question
when I turn the ignition key off on my van it wants to stay running I am not sure if this is a timing or carb adjustment problem as when the van is ideling it idles at high rpm's.
any help on this will be greatly appreciated

This is a classic example of:


1. The engine idle speed being set to high.

2. Incorrect ignition timing.

3. heavy carbon buildup on top of the pistons.

4. The choke assembly on the carb is not releasing.


Find a local qualified auto repair facility to fix this MINOR problem.
