GMC Repair: Auto Transmission 2002 Gmc Envoy, gm family, gmc envoy

Pete, I know this newer than the years you list, but help is always appreciated.  While returning from a trip, the trans on the envoy started acting up, The Vehicle would not go into overdrive.  When i stopped to check the fluid level, it was ok, but the veh. would not go into rev.  We drove the veh. to a dealer and dropped it off.  the veh. has 60000 miles on it and is well cared for. The pump on the trans was whining.  We are a gm family and as such, very concerned about this problem.  the dealer has not had a chance to look at the trans as of yet, can you help?  Are we looking at a new trans?

if you here the pump wineing it is most likely a tranny rebuld. With only the miles you have on it the tranny should have not gone bad . Hope you bought the extened warnerty this way it would be coverd other wise at least 1500 . good luck to u and let me know how u make out pete
