sir i talked to you about a month ago about my s-10 blazer that missed and kicked around at about 25 - 35 mph and you told me to plug the vacuum line that ran to the egr valve and see how it runs. i did that and it runs good, but when i took the egr valve off  and depressed  the valve in the middle and put my finger over the place where the vacuum line attaches the plunger stayed until i removed my finger. i looked in the egr valve and in the intake and did not see any carbon build up. could the egr valve still be bad internally even though it holds vacuum? i even plugged the vacuum line that runs to the egr silenoid and it ran good. any ideas?
Answer -
What YEAR is this vehicle.

Some EGR'S HOLD a vacuum when you test it such as you said you did and some, depending upon the year do NOT hold a vacuum as they have what is called a BLEEDER valve, Which is WHY I need to know the year of the vehcile.

Is there a chance that this EGR has been replaced with the WRONG EGR valve. You can write down the STAMPED numbers that are on the EGR valve and call the chevy dealer and have the parts department look it up for you in the parts book to be sure that it is the correct one for your YEAR make of vehicle and engine size.

most likely you have a problem with the EGR CONTROLLER.

Answer
Some years they called it a SOLENOID and next year it will probably be called a CONTROLLER. Some manufacturer's even call it a PULSE WIDTH MODULATOR.

I wish they would all agree on the same name.

IF this only partially resolves your problem, Make sure that the ignition timing is set correctly and then contact me at:
