GMC Repair: Buick LaSabre 3.8 V6, 1989, buick lasabre, crank sensor

Question
I have done several things to repair my vehicle and so far nothing has worked.  I currently do not have any spark or fuel pump. There is no problem with the fuel pump. The fuse has power. The relay is getting power but it's not sending power to the fuel pump. I took the relay off and there seems to be no problem. The relay works fine.

The problem started when the car warmed up and was turned off and would not restart until it cooled.  Next it moved into when the car warmed up it would just shut off on its own and would not restart until it was cool again.

Next, when it was warm it would stall, be very hard to start and ran terrible when it did start and would only run for a few minutes before shutting down then would not restart until cool.  Then I lost my spark. I replaced the coil pack, the timing chain and crank sensor, the cam pickup (I think its called).

Now, there is currently nothing, (right where I actually started out above).

What could be causing this problem? I actually changed the timing chain to try and correct the initial problem. Could this be a computer problem?

All the gauges are screwy when the key is turned on.

Please reply soon.

Answer
I will NEVER understand WHY people replace part after part after part and they still did not fix the problem GUESSING, The final fault is "IT MUST BE THE COMPUTER".

When you FIRST statrted it was NOT the computer, Now with all the parts you changed, Anyone of these replacement parts may have been FAULTY when you purchased it.

I have lost count over the years of how many brand new parts right out of a sealed box were FAULTY when I tested them BEFORE installing them on the vehicle.

Just HOW did you determine that the fuel pump is OK ?.

WE need to start at the original problem, get this fixed, Then move on to the next problem.
