GMC Repair: Lifters wont pump up on one head, chevy 383 stroker, dart heads

Question
I have a chevy 383 stroker that I just got back from the machine shop assembled.  When i went to prime the oil I only got oil to come out of the rocker arms on the drivers side.  A freind told me to keep pumping it, so I did for another 35 minutes and still nothing on the passenger side.  The lifters don't feel like there pumping up on the passenger side either.  Everything in this motor is brand new. This a 1969 block with dart heads.  with a hydrollic flat tappet crane cam, lifters and springs.  Any ideas?

Answer
What tool are you using to PRIME the oil pump with ?.

Have you tried hand turning the engine while priming the oil pump ?.

You most likely have a restriction in the lifter(s) oil galley. Could be a simple piece of foreign debris that MIGHT work itself loose by hand turning the engine while priming the oil pump.

Last suggestion BEFORE you start pulling lifters is to CALL the facility and tell them your problem.

let me know.
