GMC Repair: Transmition, automatic transmission fluid, little fingers

Question
This is a Susuki steeem with 100k I replaced the fluid at 50k It is shiftting with delays ..like stays in gear for more time (higher rpms)..then finally goes to the other gear..I checked the level on cold and it is very high..like has a lot of fluid....
Can the fluid go bad and make this happens (replacing the fluid fix that kind of problems)?
Thanks

Answer
AUTOMATIC transmission fluid is ALWAYS checked when HOT. If it is OVER FILLED a delay in shifting can occur. HIGHLY recommend that you have the fluid and filter replaced and look for signs of an abnormal dark color of fluid and or a BURNT smell to it as well as any small piees of debris as large as or larger than your little fingers fingernail as wel;l as ANY metallic material that is can be picked up using a magnet.
