How do you kow when it is time to clean your fuel injectors.  If they are not performing correctly does the vehicle make noises?  This is on a 1996 GMC Jimmy  What are the exact symtoms to have them cleaned?
Answer -
You can have them professionally cleaned or you can TRY some cleaning agents that you pour in the gas tank. There is NO set rule as to WHEN and or IF they need to be cleaned.

If you have a driveability problem with the vehicle, You need to have the cause diagnosed to determine what the cause is.

The ONLY way to know IF the injectors need to be CLEANED or REPLACED is when you start to have a driveability problem with the vehicle. When you take it in to find out WHY you have a driveability problem, They do specific diagnostics tests to determine what the cause is. If AFTER doing the diagnostics testing, The cause turns out to be a fault with an injector, They FIRST try cleaning it and if unsuccessful they REPLACE it.

You can't just look at the injector and assume it has a problem.
