GMC Repair: a/c compressor, vacuum pump, hookup

Question
i have a 93 chevy s 10 w/ac 4.3 v6. i m replacing the compressor. i got a used one out of a 92 blazer. the guy i got it from said it should fit. but the original unit has the plug for the clutch and an other set of wires that hookup to the back of the unit. the replacement unit does not have a place to connect the wires. what are the extra wires for. does this mean i'll have to get a different unit.  please help.

Answer
It CAN be rewired but it is a lot of work. Get the CORRECT compressor and save yourself a lot of GRIEF.

NOTE: If you wire it WRONG you can destroy vital ELECTRONIC components and now you have REAL TROUBLE.

If you do NOT know EXACTLY how to measure the CORRECT amount of refrigerant oil and refrigerant and do not have a manifold A/C set and a vacuum pump you CANNOT install the compressor CORRECTLY.
