GMC Repair: 1993 Chevy 2500 heater, blown head gasket, heater hoses

Question
Im not getting water through the heater core. I replaced the heater core.  line coming into the heater core/out of the intake has water flow to the heater core but none on the return line to the radiator.  What am i overlooking?  could it be a blown head gasket?

Answer
You stated: "could it be a blown head gasket ? ".

Yes it could be a blown head gasket.

BEFORE you installed the heater core did you test it to make sure water flows thru it, BEFORE you installed it ?.

Over the years I have seen Plastic bags stuffed in heater cores.

Disconnect BOTH heater hoses and connect your garden hose to the heater core inlet tube and see if water passes thru the core.
