GMC Repair: 99 Pontiac Gp transmission & sunroof, transmission expert, limit switches

Question
I have 2 problems with my 99 Pontiac GP.  Worst is the transmission.  During normal driving in town the transmission starts to overheat and the begins to slip/jerk.  I've had the cooling system checked by the dealer and it is OK.  Any suggestions?
The second problem is the sunroof.  It frequently won't open all of the way and sometimes won't close.  I can't find the limit switches.  Do you know where they are located?
Thanks

Answer
What makes you think the transmission is OVER HEATING ?.

Pull the dipstick for the trans and see if the fluid is a bright RED color and is NOT brown and smells burnt.

As far as the sunroof, GM has YET to build a sunroof that works. I have dealt with this for almost 25 years and I won't even touch one anymore because as soon as you fix it, It acts up again.

My suggestion is to weld it shut and forget about it.

Some body shops will fix it for you but it won't stay fixed.

On the trans, You will most likely have to get a qualified transmission expert to diagnose and advise you of the cost to fix it.
