GMC Repair: security lock on stereo, gmc yukon, gmc dealership

I had work done on my alternator and all power to the truck was cut off.  Now my stereo is locked out and I need a code to unlock it but I bought the vehicle pre-owned and don't know if previous owner had a code for it.  Is there a default code I can use to restore my radio without having to take it in and get charged for something I had no control over. I own a 1999 Gmc Yukon.

I cannot provide you with this information, As I have no way of knowing if you are the actual OWNER of the STEREO.

Any reputable service faciltity will ask for proof of ownership for the stereo and or run the serial # of the stereo to see if it is listed as stolen.

I hope you can see my side of this problem.
